Click here for this info in multiple languages.
The Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) program provides food benefits to help families with children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals through the federal School Breakfast or National School Lunch Programs.
Currently the California Department of Education (CDE) and Department of Social Services (CDSS) are waiting for approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on their P-EBT 2.0 plan.
Once approved, all Sac City Unified students will be eligible for the P-EBT 2.0 program and receive the benefit card at their address on file with the state.
How does it work?
Your P-EBT benefits can be used to buy food in most grocery stores and farmers markets. Use your P-EBT card like a debit card:
- Select “EBT”
- Swipe the card
- Enter your private PIN number
Update your address by Wednesday, March 10, 2021
To ensure all our Sac City Unified students receive this benefit once the state program is approved, the CDE is asking families to update their address on file with the school district by Wednesday, March 10. To update your address, please contact your student’s school. You will be required to provide verification of address. See the list of documentation accepted here.
The State of California wants to help your child get these food benefits. Using P-EBT will not hurt your immigration status. Using P-EBT does not create a public charge.
