Cancellation of SAT and PSAT 10
April testing at West Campus canceled

Article

We regret to inform West Campus families that due to current public health conditions, after much consideration by our staff and in consultation with local health officials, our district has determined that we are unable to administer the PSAT 10 and SAT previously scheduled to take place at school sites this April.

  • The University of California (BerkeleyDavisLA, etc.) will not consider SAT or ACT scores from next year’s applicants when making admissions decisions or awarding Regents or Chancellor’s scholarships. If you choose to submit test scores with your application, they may be used to determine your eligibility for the California statewide admissions guarantee, as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll.

  • The California State University system (Sacramento State, Cal Poly, etc.) has also suspended the use of the SAT and ACT for next year.

  • Many private and out-of-state public universities have lifted the SAT and/or ACT requirement. Determine the need and plan accordingly.

Students still wishing to take the SAT can sign up through their College Board account to take the exam at any open test center. The remaining SAT dates for this academic year are May 8th and June 5th. (Stay up-to-date, as recent test dates have been canceled due to COVID-19.) Many non-public schools are listed as test centers, like Christian Brothers High School on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

If you have further questions, please reach out to your guidance counselor, Mr. Navarrete or Ms. Bendickson. Thank you.
