Rita McNamara is the new College and Career Support Counselor at West Campus. She joined the team at the end of November 2022. She has a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and an M.A. in Counseling from Brandman University.
Originally from San Diego, she now lives in Folsom with her husband and two young sons. She has four children – 2 grown, a son in the Marines and a daughter at UC Davis, and two little boys in elementary school with special needs.
This is my 20th year working at West Campus. Although things have changed a bit, this unique school holds a special place in my heart. After initially teaching Algebra, I have taught Biology and Human Anatomy & Physiology ever since. From class advisor (2005 & 2014), to coaching tennis, to athletic training, now my focus is on Key Club, Green Team, and Class of 2020.
I have taught in the Sacramento City Unified School District for 25+ years: 15 years teaching Technology and Business at Hiram Johnson High School; and 10 years teaching Engineering, Programming and Technology at West Campus. My qualifications include the following:
