Hello West Campus Families,

With AP Testing and SBAC Testing right around the corner, we want to highlight the value of managing stress.  We have asked our teachers to provide their classes some de-stressing guidance this week.  Students should be hearing from all of their teachers methods that their teachers have used to manage stress.

In advance of AP testing, it is important for students to remember that they are well prepared for their test – last minute review can be valuable, however, late night studying the night before a test can be counterproductive.  It is important for students to be well rested prior to testing.  This will have them prepared to do their best.  Keep in mind that while students are well prepared, there may be material that is difficult, it is important for students to treat high stakes tests as a challenge rather than a threat.

For SBAC, our testing will take place after the regular scheduled AP testing, that schedule can be found here.

Students interested in taking a community college class should attend a workshop that our counseling team will provide at lunch on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Thank you,

John McMeekin – Principal

Equity Team Challenge
Week #2 - Unconscious Bias

Post

Our second weekly Equity Team challenge focuses on conscious and unconscious bias and how they impact the way we interact with the world. Without self-reflection and active confrontation of our biases, we miss the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. It’s our responsibility to learn our biases, understand their origins, and reframe the narratives we have because of them.
