E-mail blast

Hello West Campus Families,

Congrats to the Mean Girls cast who did an amazing job in this Fall’s musical. The clear talent and effort of our students over the past few months to prepare was evident this past weekend.  Thank you also to Nor-Cal Theater for supporting our site to put on this production.  Based on the crowd response, this was a well received play and we should look forward to future WCHS productions.

This is a reminder that our student-led Equity Team is organizing a community meeting on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 3:45 pm in room 56.  All community members are invited to attend.

Course request presentations for all students have been completed by our counselors. If your student is interested in taking a community college course during the spring term, here is a link to information on Dual Enrollment. Registration for community college courses began on December 14, 2023. Students can email their counselor the completed Special Admit form.  All students are able to take college classes for elective credit towards high school graduation, for more information on the district’s credit policy, click here

Please note that families can tap into the College and Career resources with College and Career Technician, Ms. Ashley Devonshire, in room 26.  Look for a detailed schedule for presentations or drop in between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm to see what is available.

Also, this is another friendly reminder to complete After School ASSETs Registration for your student(s). The school/district is collecting registration from families for after school program activities. Every student who participates in athletics, club, tutoring of any sort, or any other after school-organized (or drop-in) activity should have their parents/guardians complete this district application form. Please complete the form here: https://www.scusd.edu/2023-24-9-12-application-form

By completing this form every year, there’s a better chance of our school receiving $250,000 each year for the next five years for the ASSETs Program.

Finally, this week is Spirit Week with our Spirit Rally on Friday.

Thank you,

John McMeekin – Principal
