E-mail blast

Hello West Campus Families,

Parents and students, we need your help!  Please consider self nominating to be on the School Site Council.  This team reviews, monitors, provides input, and approves the usage of our LCFF funding.  If you are interested, you can self nominate by clicking here.

College Night is Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  We will have a welcome in the cafeteria with tables set up from St. Mary’s, the US Naval Academy, Menlo College, Army, and College Track.  Following the welcome, we will have three breakout sessions for more detailed information.  Breakout presenters are a representative from a UC, a representative from CSU Sacramento, a representative from Sacramento City College, a representative from College Place, and our own WCHS Counselors.  There will be valuable information for students and families of all grade levels.

The PSAT will be administered to all 10th and 11th grade students on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.  This will be a fully digital administration.  Additionally, all ninth grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 digitally.  To access the digital test, all students will need an SCUSD issued ChromeBook.  If you have not checked out a ChromeBook, please visit the front office for the technology usage form to begin the check-out process.

While 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students are testing on October 11th, all seniors will have the opportunity to work on college applications or college essays.  Ms. McNamara, our college and career counselor and Ms. Devonshire, our college and career technician have invited speakers to support our seniors in their efforts.  Students, please stop by Room 26.  This is our new College and Career Center.  Ms. Devonshire will be there during lunch and throughout the day.

We have set visitation dates for recruiting incoming freshmen for the 2024-2025 school year, look for more details below.

Culture and Climate Update: If you have information regarding a crime or misconduct, you can report here anonymously.  We will provide updates here regarding any reports.

Thank you,

John McMeekin – Principal
