Post
Dr. Elysse R. Versher

West Campus Warriors,

We received notification today that administrators from the Association of California School Administrators (Region 3) nominated Dr. Versher for the 2020-2021 Secondary Co-Principal of the year award. For the past year, Dr. Versher has trained administrators in Arizona, California, and Nevada on restorative justice implementation, facilitating courageous conversations, and building relationships with teachers and staff during distance learning. Most recently, she has partnered with Yolo County Office of Education to facilitate a training, “Soulful Conversations” to train school administrators in California on creating anti-racist schools. Her latest research, “Examining Administrators’ Perception of Restorative Justice Principles” was published in the International Journal of Secondary Education this year. Further, she facilitates a bi-weekly book study with Sacramento City Unified administrators to unpack systemic racism in schools in order for all students to be socially, emotionally, and physically safe at school. Way to go Dr. V!
