PSAT and National Merit Scholar
The PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. PSAT scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships.
The total score is the sum of the two section scores; its range is 320–1520. Your students receive scores in the range of 160–760 for each of two sections. The Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section score combines the scores for the Reading Test and the Writing and Language Test.
