NEW Update on AP Exams
Important changes for this spring

* Updated on 4/3/20 – new test dates have been announced *

Because schools are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Advanced Placement (AP) exams will be very different this spring. They will be 45-minute, open-book/open-note exams, and they will be taken at home. Students can either take the test online OR submit a photo of handwritten work.

This month, Sacramento Running Association honored Kevin Clancy, West Campus cross country coach, as Community Runner of the Year. Coach Clancy has been very involved in the local running community, managing more than 130 miles as course director for a number of local races, including the California International Marathon.

Congratulations to the West Campus girls basketball team for winning the NIKE Tournament of Champions (TOC) that took place in Phoenix, Arizona, last month–we are so proud of our Warriors!! Special thanks to the coaches, parents, and families who support our scholar-athletes in reaching the heights!

West Campus Wins Big at CREATE Competition

On Wednesday, December 11th, 23 West Campus students participated in an all-day engineering competition hosted by Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBE). Held at Sacramento State, the CREATE Competition is the annual culminating event of the CREATE Program, for which our students met regularly after school and received mentorship from industry professionals — such as architects, civil engineers, and structural engineers – over a 12-week period.

Cross Country Success at State Championship!
Godebo Chapman Places 7th

November 30th in Fresno was a wonderful end to the season for the entire West Campus Cross Country team and especially for junior, Godebo Chapman. Godebo is now the first West Campus student to crack the top-10, with a 7th place finish and a personal record of 15:34! 

We are incredibly proud of Godebo and the entire team for all of their hard work and accomplishments. Special thanks to coaches Kevin Clancy and Tracie Podsednik, as well as to the families of our student-athletes, who helped make all this possible. Go Warriors!!

West Campus has been recognized as one of the Sacramento area schools that send the most graduates to college.

“Not surprisingly, schools located in wealthier areas are much more likely to send a higher proportion of graduates to college… But some schools in economically disadvantaged areas punch above their weight, particularly Sacramento Charter High and West Campus, both located in South Sacramento.”

West Campus Swimmer Named Scholastic All American
Congratulations, Lucy Huang!

West Campus sophomore Lucy Huang has been selected by USA Swimming to the 2018-19 Scholastic All America Team! 

To earn the title of Scholastic All American, Lucy had to meet the 2018 Winter Junior time standards in the pool while maintaining a minimum 3.5 GPA at school.

Balancing sports and academics is no easy task, and we are extremely proud of our scholar-athletes at West Campus. Congratulations to Lucy on this achievement, as well as her coaches and family for their support.

New STEM Building Opens
State-of-the-art learning spaces

The West Campus STEM Building is now ready for our students to explore! This new facility will support the development of our Engineering Program and features state-of-the-art science labs for student innovation. With movable furniture, outdoor learning space, and increased seating options for project based learning, the new STEM Building will maximize student and teacher collaboration.
